Joanne spent 17 years championing the inclusion of women in Olympic rowing culminating in her managing the 196 women’s Olympic Team. Since then she has continued to work tirelesly to create and develop competitive women's rowing programs in the United states at every level from high school to college to master's to the Olympic Team. She enjoys sharing the stories that have come from over 50 years of involvement in the rowing community with all types of audience members.

About the Author
Joanne Wright Iverson is an entrepreneur and author who in her spare time is a rowing coach and competitor. She is currently the President of the prestigious Vesper Boat Club on Boathouse Row in Philadelphia, and two companies that specialize in new computer systems, Iverson Gaming Systems for the entertainment industry and Iverson Associates, an MBE certified company for state and local governments. She recently published her first book, “An Obsession With Rings” about her efforts to have women’s rowing events included in the Olympic program.
Her past rowing accomplishments include being the first coach of women’s rowing at the University of Pennsylvania and College Boat Club, co-founder of the National Women’s Rowing Association, member of the first United States Women’s Olympic Rowing Committee, appointee to President Ford's Commission On Olympic Sports serving with Rafer Johnson on the Rowing subcommittee, Manager, first U.S. Women's Rowing team at World Championships in Moscow, USSR, Manager of the first U.S. Olympic Women's Rowing Team in Montreal, Canada.
